Does the choice of the village ruler affect the culture developed by the goblins? I think Urkur could create a militaristic culture like Sparta

Most games and other form of entertainment that involves goblins has always portrayed them to be dumb as shit.

Although with our influence, we probably could make them less dumb later.

I remember playing the old demo and loving it. the new demo was great and can’t wait to get more

This is probably a bug but, for some reason Munu acts like her brother is dead even though I forgave Urkur.

(Urkur lives if you choose the break his bones option. But this error appears later)

Okay now first I’m going to go ahead and say that I’m sorry darkner cause I have quite a few questions…so please forgive meeeee. Well here we go.

Question 1 will we able to reclaim our title as ruler of the underworld and overall god/goddess of death?

2 will our champions still be able to become hob goblins?

3 will all the original gods/ goddesses otherwise known as our friends be with us cause I won’t lie I’ll miss those crazy psychopaths otherwise.

4 will we get to choose the way we look and clothes we wear?

5 was the little goblin child innocent?

6 if this starts before the war with the titans will this book be like separated into chapters where we are there in atheina and then vanish for awhile and then return? Or are we just there the entire time?

7 when I played the test by fuzon I played it multiple times when I chose to get angry about her not using my title and I chose to fight her it said she left and then gave me the options for when I make the test was this a bug?

8 also when I failed the test our helper mentioned that our powers were destructive and fuzon herself calls us corrosive what’s different with our powers and hers?

And that’s all of them overall I’d say I like the demo it just needs a little editing and then it should be all good. Good job darkner.

Making our character have a more hand-on presence is good and all but there is one glaring problem with all this.

Why should MC care? So we wake up in a Goblin Camp, some old guy calls us a number, gives us a name and…???

So I am supposed to care for the goblins who have tied me up, do supposedly what those who kidnapped want me to do? And why? Why shouldn’t I walk away now? I know nothing, I care about nothing and I want to go home. So, since I also happen to have superpowers, I should be capable of dealing with dangers. So I naturally want to go away and find some civilization, even if I cannot go back home. Biggest failure of this new chapter 1 is that, MC has no connections to this world at all, and no reason to care about it.

The old one was better at this. You witnessed the creation of the world, how it developed and even knew that Goblins were supposed to be your race, because your friends had their own. When you woke up in the Underworld, you met one of them and thus had a reason to care. Power, authority had nothing to do with it; there were others who were trapped with you. Others whom you knew from the past and suddenly their disappearences made sense.

At the same time, the scale seems to have gotten much, much smaller. A god? More like a chief of a small village who happens to have superpowers. What if you unite goblins? A king? Not a god though. Would a god care about day to day dealings of his followers? If he is a minor god, yeah maybe. Do gods the scale of 12 Olympians care? No, they don’t. They prefer to delegate small things and deal with big problems themselves. While some may enjoy it, I don’t. When I have my problems, which is being kidnapped far away from my home and forced into a world where I have to live in much shittier conditions, I wouldn’t care much about the problems of others.

So, in short, I need a reason to care, which means before continuing, this first chapters needs to drastically expand. It goes too fast, bam bam bam without explaining anything, doing anything, just putting you in situations and forcing you to pretend that you care. I don’t. So I don’t like the new demo at all and prefer the old one.

Now, it may become the same in the future chapters. The story might connect in a way similar to the old demo. But from just looking beginnings of both demos, the previous one is quite frankly, superior.

Edit2: I may have come off too strong now, maybe even offensive. I am sorry if that’s the case. I tend to go on rants a bit, but I don’t mean anything with it. I don’t meant to attack or something, just trying to show the problems I see in this new demo compared to the old one. Sorry if I have angered or offended.

tbh i kinda preferred the old demo/game, the buildup in the real world leading to the actual worldbuilding felt more natural and the narrative was smoother imo. this one’s ok though

Totally agree with you

yeah I would have to agree with that it’s a little too fast, and Angelicon is right why is the MC is doing this making a kingdom we need an Internal monologue that should help you flush out what the MC motives are. like maybe he wants to go back home but he has no idea how or how to use his power, asking these questions in our head would cover why we couldn’t just go crazy with are powers.

Opening for this was fine with me.

Welcome back!
Ok so I personally prefer the older demo’s more passive approach to godhood, while I like how directly I am influencing the Goblins I feel like I could do that without being physically with them if that makes sense. However, it seems like that might happen in later chapters so this is less me not liking it and more me being excited with the later developements! That being said, are the champions thing just abandonned now? Cause correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t we kinda did that on the old demo where we picked from three characters? I thought that was great and a very smart way of developing the story but I get it if it is no longer gonna be a thing.

As for the pacing, yes, I think this feels more rushed, but it is simply cause we didn’t have an establishing character moment. I agree that maybe we should start with the Highschool through a prologue of sorts. That being said, I really love the train scene idea, that’s a pretty unique way to get isekaid that doesn’t involve getting hit by a truck lmao.

So suggestions going forward, 1. that prologue idea could help with the pacing a bit as I felt that the MC sounds rather bland for now and 2. I really miss the champion thing from the older demo. I look forward to being introduced to the pantheon soon though! Best of luck for the future of this game, it’s been good so far

This new demo is downgraded for me. I as MC can’t connect with the story at all. Nothing makes sense to me. Why should I have to do this or that?
To me it seems like a complete different game where everything is forced upon you and you have to do things because you are a mindless puppet. You don’t stop a second to think your predicament.

Edit:
How many of you shit and piss and still decided to continue the story instead of restarting the game?
This man is supposed to be your butler from your old demo. So are you still going to make him your butler if you continue the humiliating path? Or you are going to kill him the first chance you get?
Me…I am definitely killing everyone who humiliates me when I am weak and stupid.

Edit: I have also noticed something. No matter how powerful others are from you, if they attack you, even if you yourself are useless against them, they don’t come out of the encounter unharmed. It’s probably due to the corrosive power of MC. If you get too close to the power, you will get hurt. This happened to the grey man who used his power on you as well the examiner who tried to steal your power. Both of them were coughing blood.

Who is akumu?

I don’t find the new version interesting, I prefer the old demo a lot more…

The revamped chapter feels forced and rushed, there is nothing to make the MC (and me) involved in the story or why I should care about anything that is going on… A shame, the old demo had a lot of potential… As for that new version, I couldn’t even finish it. I don’t find it interesting at all…

Sorry.

This is great! I really like both versions, though I kind of prefer the first.

Either way, I will gladly support either version, and cannot wait for more.

I will start off by saying this: Besides feeling a little rushed, the demo is fine. I enjoyed the new atmosphere of ā€˜holy crap, what the he’ll is this world?!’ vibe I was getting. As someone who writes offline and is far too scared to even bring his own work here, I salute you, Darkner. Losing all your work is really frustrating and demoralizing. That said, it probably doesn’t help with a lot of negative feedback that either repeats the exact same thing over and over, or is not very constructive.

So, things that’ll need to be worked on have already been said, and I think you’re a pretty awesome guy. Keep up the good work.

Lol I do love isekai animes. So I think I will tale a particullar likeness to this game

I am going to have to chime in and day that I did not like the overhaul. I feel like the old version had better world building, it gave me a better connection with my classmates and it made me feel more connected with the world.

As it stands: I don’t care about the goblins, I don’t care about the judicial system and I definitely don’t feel godlike if I am playing People’s Court.

I could go on, but this will be it for now.

I like the new more for the fact that we get to meet and interact with the goblins. The first demo you really don’t have to care about them at all other than the fact you drew their race, and are also told by your advisor that you should choose one of them for something great. If it were to go back to the original first chapter then perhaps adding in a culture we can create would be a good in between of the two chapters. Then people can still feel godly, but we also have a reason to care about the goblins since we contributed something to them? Idk I will like the story however it’s written, and look forward to more.:+1:t5:

My preference toward the first demo is mostly because of the MC being directly involved in the making of the backstory. I like having known the others who would become gods. Are they going to be in the story, will we know them? I already shipped Luca (I think it was Luca, the Beast people’s god) with my MC. :kissing_heart:

Im going to have to agree i enjoyed the first one. It just was something i felt had more potential then the current remake of chapter one. And plus it was diffrent in the fact that we became a god/goddess of the underworld.

The current one feels way to diffrent to the point it feeels like a diffrent story.

Plus I did like we could make the world building.
