The eye is a material that does not cost the user neither Vitality nor essence. It has permanent effects and so on.
A forbidden realm altering spell, takes the opponent to an adverse realm, a blank realm where they are at your mercy. However it has a hefty price.

The eye does not take one to a nightmare realm, they are simply mentally trapped practically in a coma of endless torture and horrifying illusion.
The forbidden spell would physically take the target to a blank world and have mental damage that become physical.
Reality altering spell huh how about a spell that ages the target how ever you want. Edit: instead you age faster depending on how much you affected turns back at end of the day if used on self turns you young the next day but your really weak?
Thats kind of a random side effect. It has no relation to the actual spell. How about instead the downside is that you age faster as long as the spell is active but when it’s done you revert to your normal age.
Thanks for the suggestion but I was thinking it as a perm effect. I’ll change suggested weakness. Though.
Ah as a forbidden spell it’s perfect dark, just need a proper downside…@Marethyu and @Dark_Stalker keep in mind that the characters age is never stated nor will it be, suppose the mc is only 13 or 80 wouldn’t that mean instant death?
Along those lines the cost and use of the spell could be in sets of 10, for every decade the target is aged that is 10 essence taken away from the MC but a more…permanent and harsher affect is needed…the stated cost can also be readjusted too.
So scrap self use and It’s bright and loud and you need Blood for it?
@Dark_Stalker I can’t quite picture an aging spell being loud but still…I see so it drains both the users life force and their energy/essence at once…

@Dark_Stalker Time…Shift hmmm come up with at least 2 other backup name just in case. I have a feeling there might be other time related spells coming in. Oh and what is the spell authors name?

slowly kills the target by sucking there soul into oblivion. dosent leave any wounds or signs if it being used (of course trained mages whould be able to tell) and it acts like a whild card because it has a chance to kill you/wound you every tume you use it plus cost a lot of essence
