Are the Meek movement and InfraOrder/InfraCircle sympathetic? Spoilers

Here are some quotes that shows inequality.

“Powered Heroes have eclipsed movie stars and music icons to set the standard for A-list celebrity” “Even the lowest-level group members(When referring to the Millennial Group) make half a million dollars a year. That’s…insane”

The MC admits that half a million dollars a year is an insane amount to make even for members of the Millennial group. I doubt Meek movement members and InfraOrder/InfraCircle members get paid that much(at least not the lower ranking members who believe what they are fighting for is right) to fight against a corrupt government.

“Smyther(When he was still a criminal in the Splice Circle) has remained untouchable thanks to a team of high-priced lawyers and some corrupt contacts within the MC government. So catching him with The Gravitas could be a rare, illegal thread capable of unraveling the entire Splice Circle organization.”

The Millennial city government has corruption.

““Uh, can we help you?” Stage Show asks, backing away.”

““We’re pretty busy here,” Fumble says, noticing that you haven’t attracted any cameras with your arrival.”

““I thought this was supposed to be the VIP room,” Stage Show says to Fumble, not even bothering to whisper.”

“I know, it’s wild who they’re letting in here,” you say. “The room is full of has-beens. There ought to be a separate place for the heroes who’ve something important in the past year—other than snag a few tabloid covers.”

“Fumble and Stage Show shift, instantly gearing up for a fight.”

“Fumble & Stage Show have been dominating New York City’s hero scene for the last few years. They’re frequent tabloid fodder, better known for their epic fights and penchant for partying than any actual hero work.”

“Powered heroes have become the ultimate celebrities,”

Not all famous celebrity “heroes” do “hero work”.

“So as you were looking for the next big move in your career, Jenny told you about The Hero Project—which will base its national headquarters in Millennia City, the Powered capital of the nation, if not the world.”

“Usually the Mews cater to much wealthier and more famous residents, but the PFPP helped you earn a spot after the high-profile Hero of Tomorrow (HoT) debacle that outed your ${familyname} identity. Which means that Grandma’s new social life includes rubbing elbows with some of MC’s finest (much like your own).”

“The Mews are in one of MC’s most beautiful neighborhoods; you have tons more space than your old apartment and most importantly, it’s safe. The Mews have their own Powered Security Squad and a cutting-edge surveillance system. After everything that happened to your family, you’re so happy you don’t have to worry about Grandma.”

“Millennia City is the shining beacon of twenty-second-century progress—not to mention the city you’ve called home for your entire life.”

“The only notable exception has been Static, the self-proclaimed champion of the Eastern Fringes (named after the Fringes’s most crime-clogged neighborhood, Static Lane).”

“We believe in (MC’s name)'s cause,” Scoundrel gobbles back. “He/She has risen from the ashes of The Splice Circle and The InfraOrder to become the true champion of the Fringes, the leader of all us downtrodden Powereds!”

“The Ani-gang rivalries in the Eastern Fringes are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Powered politics—entire textbooks have been written on the subject.”

“You know how much this opportunity must have meant to her, coming from a place like the Fringes. And to have this chance slip away…it must be devastating.”

Millennia City is the shining beacon of twenty-second-century progress and the powered capital of American and the world while the Fringes doesn’t seem like a nice place to live in.

Tarana is a student of MC’s ritzy Rein Hill Powered private school, Rein Prep.

“She also had to pull you out of your fancy, Powered-only private school and enroll you in the local public school.”

Private powered schools for upper class powered people just increases wealth and powered inequality.

“The trio is across the rail yard, where a crumbling tower still half stands. They’ve been fighting their way through a mini-army of Ani-Powereds and other deformed followers.”

“It appears Culic’s philosophies on outcasts rising are shared by much more than just his InfraOrder inner circle. Besides, after the Ani-gangs and the Splice Circle disbanded (thanks to you), all those people had to find someplace to belong….”
The InfraOrder gives ex-criminals a chance to stand up for the downtrodden unwanted powered outcasts.

The government being corrupt has nothing to do with powered people.

The MC and his revelation at how millenial tower heroes make.
You can’t say whether its because he believes they make too much money for powered people or whether they just make alot of money and plus more people make money from throwing a ball around.
At least they only get paid when they catch villians and help people ala bounties and contracts.
Also powered politics?
So what normal people have books written about their politics.
Called a history book.

Private schools.
Even without powers that problem still exists.
It has more to do with distribution of wealth not powers.
(btw tarana’s parents are normal humans that own a magazine the richest person you meet is a normal human why don’t they deserve to have their pay cut and forced to help the fringes huh?)

In my opinion President Victon only cares about political power and he doesn’t even care about the Meek movement ideals since his second wife is a powered person. In my opinion Rexford is president’s Victon’s pawn.

I don’t think all powered people are rich since I have said that I sympathize with parts of the Meek movement, parts of the InfraOrder and parts of the InfraCircle.

Its highly improbable that the entire time rexford was rich he was just a pawn.
Also I doubt rexford was ever just a pawn.
Maybe unlucky but never a pawn.
Because as we all know.
Billionaires with really good publicity trump politicians most the time.

You are probably right about Rexford not being a pawn. Rexford does not seem like the kind of person that wants to help other people. Rexford hates the MC.

I think your fixation on classicism really is interesting as the ignorance for other potential influences.

The MC started as poor. They overcame that eventually, but they still stayed a “Gene Hazard”. The Bear still has to face homophobia, Stage Show transphobia. Those things don’t just disappear just because they got rid of one disadvantage.

It may be difficult, in some cases very difficult to get rid of poverty but at least it is in theory possible. And who now is riche can very fast end up poor. The advantages and drawbacks of personal income are much more fluid as the influences of racism (real life and fantasy), homophobia and transphobia, which are in itself drawbacks on the way out of poverty.

Still you ask us to have sympathy with a group of people that promotes genocide (and certainly would like to hold powered people poor and scorned in case killing isn’t an option) and another group that only as long cares about your problems as long you share their views, even in case you are one of those they pretend to fight for.

And animal powered people may got the short end of the stick, but they certainly aren’t the only ones, btw. (Also isn’t Heela of the Millennia Group herself also one of them? I’m not sure but I imagined her to be animal powered…)

Honestly, for the Meek it’s absolutly clear that the story doesn’t tries to draw them sympathic, but merely as a radical cult.
For the InfraOrder the narrative at least gave us their reasons, but ultimately they stayed terrorists, that killed more people as they helped. You know:

The people with disadvantages are making the people with advantages feel the short end of the stick.

By murdering innocent people and promoting genocide? I’m honestly shocked that someone in this day and age can try to defend what amounts to terrorism and genocide.

No matter how bad you think the actions of the InfraOrder/InfraCircle and the Meek movement are they are fighting for the people who have disadvantages.

A lot of people think the Brotherhood of Steel(which wants to kill all non-humans) and the Institute(which enslaves synths) in Fallout 4 are sympathetic.

While ignoring, the disadvantages of the other side, huh. As are you.

Look, I’m really not a fan of oppression olympics, but I feel as if I have to break to you that the Meek certainly wouldn’t win those and probably neither the InfraOrder, which is mostly motivated by their own hate and need for revenge, totally ignoring, that their actions do more damage to those they pretend to present as it helps.

they weren’t trying to get the state government and the people to care more about the fringes.
They went straight for the turn everyone into ani’s so they stop ani hate.
(which is an incredibly stupid and short sight solution to anyone that thinks about enough.)

And the meek movement was founded on genocide and ignoring rights.

And in the end you can try to say that some people in the movement joined to do good but the question is if the “meek movement” as a whole is sympathetic not individuals and in the end the scale points towards evil because even if there were any decent people they didn’t stop it so they can’t make a claim to be good guys.(maybe decent or okay but not good.)

How would you feel like if you were born in Millennial City or the Fringes as a non-powered person or if you were powered but you are poor and were born in the Fringes?

I already know what it feels like to be poor.
I have already experienced being an outcast.
So if I was a powered person in the fringes I would practice my powers and not join the infra order maybe become a hero or an IT guy.
If I was powerless I still wouldn’t join the meek since I have this strong belief in rights and freedom.
Also I hate discrimination.
And genocide (just in case no one knew)
