@JoshiYinmith Casenās relationship bar changing was intentional, Iām glad it worked as intended! I did fix the Ruth leaving first issue, that was confusing.
Keeping track of dates and having a steady flow of time is an issue of mine. Using the seasons as a time frame is actually a great suggestion; I will definitely use that to create a more satisfying conclusion for the year! Iām taking the slow burn approach so far, so I havenāt even scratched the surface for the overarching plot of the series. This game is more of a prologue in terms of content, so there will be plenty of questions and not too many answers.
Iāve already said this, but thanks again for the in-depth feedback on both story and errors! Iāve kept note of a lot of things and will definitely use it to improve the series

I remember playing a long time ago and damn, the game has come far since then.
I really like how we have an actual friend group with an actual internal dynamic and everything. The quest stuff is really fun idea too. I also like all the characters so far and the action part seems promising even if there isnāt much yet.
Honestly this might be the best āfantastical school experienceā / āHogwarts simulatorā game Iāve played.
One thing though, not sure if itās a bug or something but I basically picked all the nice options with our brother and have a high relationship and yet after the night raid, he say Iāve been giving him the cold shoulder.

Itās my goal to get the sort of homey atmosphere that ficitional places like Hogwarts has in terms of friends/school. If Iām anywhere close to that so far, that makes me very happy!
You should only get that line if you have rank 0 with Chase. I fixed the code to make sure thatās the case and altered the line a little bit to make more sense for those who wanted to start with 0 but improved relations since then. Will be changed next update!

So far Iād say youāre hitting the bullās eye on that goal, Iāve played all official Harry Potter games (basically the only franchise in that genre to get games sadly) and your game blow them all out of the water in term of āatmosphereā (the closest would be Hogwarts Mystery but sadly that story is ruined by predatory mobile game practices and even then, it really has went downhill these last few years), youāre genuinely on par with some very good novels on that front IMO, keep up the good work!
Ah okay, glad itās just a bug then because it felt really weird for Chase to say that when I was Rank 2 with him and basically went to bond with him at every opportunity.

Thank you! I actually did like Hogwarts Mystery but didnāt get very far with it for those same reasons. Itās games like Hogwarts Legacy too that are enjoyable but could be so much more (for my personal tastes) if more social aspects were incorporated. Thatās definitely my inspiration behind expanding relationships to ranks and intermissions as a whole. Iāll work hard to meet expectations!

Honestly intermissions are one of my favorite mechanics in this game (gonna be honest, I canāt resist giving myself enough energy to do everything at every intermission), I also really like the concept of quests, it just scratch a particular itch for me to imagine my MC taking on quests and having mini adventures in town and doing stuff for people, not sure how to put it into words.
It also make me think of those āsystemā delinquent manwhas that have popped up these last few years, just with a Quest / Errand App rather than an actual system giving out the quests. Which honestly would make for a killer delinquent manwha on itās on.

I ran into a similar bug with Casen during the hospital.
I picked to have us drifting apart at the beginning of the story, but improved the relationship, and fought the mutant with him. But after having the conversation with him where he really grows as a character and person. He calls me his friend and if I select āNot best friend?ā Then he says he doesnāt know, and the game makes some comment about how us not helping him with the mutant took itās toll on our friendship, despite the fact I did help him.

Omg I really like how well written this game is. The scene where Chase almost hits the MC literally made me cry, I felt so bad for the MC. They are just a kid (ā„ļ¹ā„) Oh, and when in one of the choices Chase said āif staying a Soldier meant sending you to an orphanage, I wouldāve done it in a heartbeatāā¦ 10/10. Not every game is capable of making me cry my eyes out, so good job.
Iām gonna make my MC still care about Chase even after all that bullshit he put them through, just so their (mine) heart will break again. Thank you ą“¦ąµą“¦ą“æ ĖĶĢź³ĖĶĢ )ā§

Chase is the worst, he only cares about himself and uses MC for his own gain but sadly my MC is too kind and she going to help him anyway.

Not sure how to put it into words but Chase is the classic āGuy with no self esteem and lost in life who used humor, pranks and fake cheer to compensate until they actually succeeded at something and instantly started taking themselves way too seriously / developed way too much of an egoā and thus it take extreme situations like you almost dying for him to take his head out of his ass to any extent.
Itās not wonder even his actual friends who know the āreal himā are getting sick of his shit.
Heās far from a lost cause but he really need a reality check, especially about his ādream jobā.
Though weād need to know what it is that made him so attached to said job in the first place before I can say what that reality check would entail. If itās because itās where he truly feel needed, heās gonna be really disappointed when he sees that literally nothing changed for anyone in the army after he got booted.

To be fair, his two friends also got fired from their own jobs at the same time and then they all got jobs at the same place at the same time while his politician dad disappeared simultaneously. And one part he doesnāt even take into account is that itās all synced up with his little brother with a mysterious originās first year at Anti-Mutant Academy.
So thereās definitely a conspiracy, the part where he is getting ahead of himself is thinking HE is the target. It would be more logical to think he is just a collateral to someone going after his dad. And personally I think it has to do with our origin, us being adopted is too specific a detail to ignore when the entire conflict of the game center around our dad, our brother and our first year at school.

Did they really get fired or maybe they were assigned to work incognito because something fishy is happening at school. There is a conspiracy but Iām sure itās not about Chase.

@Dragomer Very glad to hear that! Intermissions are my favorite to write, I wanted to give readers a chance to explore the world and learn about both main and minor characters to an extent they never would be able to in a normal book structure. From a COG writerās perspective, I want to limit energy for multiple play throughs, but from a readerās perspective? Iām abusing that save option to read through all the options too

That Chase line was difficult even to write, itās a very cruel thing to say to a child in the MCās circumstances especially. Iām so glad youāre invested, cheers to more heartbreak in the future!

It probably just me but I kinda get it Chase saying that because he is emotional and not thinking it through.
Well if you are among the last of your siblings and you have many brother and sister one way or another you will have that experience but seriously it just a sudden outburst.
Well I am pretty hyperactive in my childhood too much energy so it often draw ire from others so yeah sometimes they throw cruel word but never actually happen, like I lost count how many times my mother threaten me to put me in dorm because I pissed her off but it never went that way, still get slapped in the arse thoughš.
