Now I’m curious. Only based on my first impression as a reader (didn’t peek at the code even), I was under the impression that it is set up to be something the player has an influence on. How the protagonist thinks of the curse I mean. To some degree anyway and somewhat in line with the different personalities described in the blurb.

@R1220 @HalfFinished MC can think of the curse in different ways, including whether she feels responsible; but thank you for reminding me that I need to attach a variable to that.

I think MC feels a little guilty because she did lift her veil to better see the fight (if you went…I haven’t really played skipping it) and so she assumes that he saw her eyes due to her actions. And now I realize I need to play if MC doesn’t go to see the fights.

For prologue, this is something that has to happen (since it’s a flashback setting everything else up). Latter “roaming” segments will let you actually skip stuff (ch1 has such a segment as well)

On the itchio version, is there no stats menu?
I’m really enjoying the prose. For me, it reads as elegant and dreamy.
The sun is playing in her brown hair as she rides forward, coloring it the hue reminding you of honey; the shade of her eyes, they say, is just as rich.
Which lends me to my only real question from this line:
[…] only your veil allowed you to glimpse more than a mere shadow […].
What kind of veil do we wear?
I also enjoyed how the options reflecting diverse personalities and experiences. Makes for a fun replay!
Which means fortress, and, of course, everyone wishes to call their particular fortress great.
I laughed out loud. How true this is.

Stat menu is not done on both versions. Now that I added personality stats, it will get added with the update
I posted some clothing inspirations here, though veils need to be adjusted to cover the face. These are meant to be opaque-like.
It’s nice to see that people enjoy the writing and the options (and me poking fun at place names)
