Once again this isn’t a possible bug, because from the time Rain arrives until the end of the day there is no rerouting. More precisely, from when the arrival part begins (the one you can start by selecting “I will take a nap…”), the first “reroute” occurs the next day (“You wake up calmer…”). The only idea I can think of is that it is a Dashingdon problem, or something related to the browser cache, maybe?
This, on the other hand, is a problem actually caused by Dashingdon. Unfortunately, the save plugin only works at the beginning of a new scene (the individual files that make up the game). That point is where the new scene starts, so unless I change the whole structure of the game, unfortunately, there is nothing I can do about it.
This was a bug! I have now corrected it and the previous weapon will be correctly dropped. Thank you!
The reason why it works like this—regarding darker skin, it is certainly possible to get sunburned, but the situation they are in is more of a “let’s avoid second-degree sunburns and stick to first-degree ones”
Still, you say very sensible and interesting things! Unfortunately, it would require a lot of work and can’t be implemented on the fly, but I may start working on it for the next update. Thank you for your suggestion!
So I want to know when are you going to add the other choices like Hell if I’m leaving my family in trouble. I’ll enter that living room, by hook or by crook or My mother is obviously risking everything to save me from something. If I stay here still, she will have risked everything for nothing. It’s time to run
Now there is no option to give Divya a weapon. Which does solve the bug, but maybe not in the way you’ve intended xDDD
Outside of your update the difference between the playthroughs was that I didn’t arm myself at the abandoned house in the city, so it seems like the game thought that I didn’t had a weapon at all, although I did pick up the stick at the tabacoo shop. I say that because before at the weapon selection menu the baseball bat I used was called “my baseball bat” but the walking stick was just “a walking stick”.
That… can’t be true. I’ve never encountered this issue in any other WIP. Or it’s caused by the fact that the files were altered. Moving to the beginning of the scene is common in that case, yeah.
Those choices are the starts of the other two routes, so they will be developed when I finish the current one!
Oh no
But did you have at least two weapons? You can only arm Divya if you have one weapon for yourself and one for her—all “dangerous” objects count as weapons. You can list your inventory here if you want!
Oh? I don’t understand what you mean with “the files were altered.” I personally don’t think I’ve ever used the save plugin in other games, so I don’t know if it’s normal or not. I’d have to do some research on that, but just as general information, it’s not easy to identify the beginning of a scene—there’s no “sign” from the player’s point of view. I guess my next game will have a lot more scenes, ha!
I had all the scissors and knives in the world, so yeah. There were several options in the menu for choosing my weapon.
I’ve seen save files moving to the beginning of the scene in the Breach WIP every time it was updated. And in some other WIPs too. Outside of that, for all other WIPs I can close the tab with the game, load it back and the saves will open exactly where I made them, not at the beggining of the files only. So, skill issue xDDD (i’m so sorry)
Okay, that’s it. Now I think I’ve really solved it—I’ve changed the sum format. If that doesn’t work either, I’ll have to think about it after a good night’s sleep!
I didn’t even know that was possible at all
It’s not a skill issue because Dashingdon actually has its own internal plugin, and activating it only requires a string in the game (so it either works, or it doesn’t work—no middle ground!).
Nevertheless, it is very strange as well as annoying, I have to agree with you. I wrote a message in CJW’s original post to ask him if he ever found an answer (and hopefully, solution) to this problem, since it had been reported by other people in the past.
Trust me, I will work to fix the issue as soon as I receive an answer!
OMG, this was amazing and I loved all the options! Especially the one where you can choose what you want to be!! This has so much detail, I’m def gonna replay it again
ack okay i love this already. the cast are likeable (especially micheal) (absolutely unbiased opinion i swear) (though the immortal baby is kinda spooky) and i love collecting all of them. the more the merrier
good luck with the other routes, multiple major routes sounds like a monster to write!
Luckily, I’m “automating” almost everything, so the bulk of the work will be done with the first route—for the other two, I will just have to write the texts while most of the codes will be ready to be used (or at least I hope so. My friends say I have a kink for being overworked…)
There were two very annoying bugs, the first concerning Abigail on the third day of travel, and the second concerning the backpack. Details below (spoilers are blurred):
About Abigail
After Abigail arrives in the shed, the baby may or may not survive. Even if it survives, the game would force the burial scene. Now the said scene is shown only if the required conditions are met.
About the backpack
If you used the backpack within the game (in certain scenes) without ever opening the Stats page, the game could not calculate the maximum weight of the backpack, showing an unhelpful 0 kg out of 0 kg. Now the weight is displayed correctly, and MC has again the strength needed to carry it.
Now that everything has been fixed, I hope your overall experience will improve. Remember to restart the game and have fun with it!
I might be doing something wrong but selecting the “arm yourself and Divya” it gives me the option to give her a weapon but then proceeds to the next scene without me having a weapon.
