I like Arcania Cove. Maybe Arcania Isle might be a better name if the only way is by boat though.

Smash them and sell the crystals at a store as trinkets for profit…
Ok magical scheme
Kidnap witches make them enchant trinkets and powerful items. Sell to humans to protect themselves for contracts
Take contracts sell them to demons in exchange for attacking places. Rinse repeat…rule my kingdom, make the fae court my ally. Eradicate all witch rivals with a fiery vengeance, provide aid and wealth to those who are allies and loyal.

lol I’m pretty sure if you tried to break the crystal you’d loose a limb since it turns flesh and bone to crystal. Or were you going to do that to someone else?
Lol that would be a good plan in a medieval setting lol. But I don’t think people would get those until the find out magic exists.
I know right!? I love going places by train soooo much more comfortable than driving long distances plus can really soak up the scenery on the way there same with boats which is why I made it so those are the only ways to get to town or leave.

You could say that the witches did it on purpose (say, they like being isolated, and thus have stymied any plans for roads and airports up until this point).
Am I correct in thinking that this “turn to crystal if you run out of mana” is from American Horror Story (or a similar film or show)? I’d suggest not doing this, because it sounds pretty specific to that show (other plot devices and powers are more generic, so they can be “borrowed” more easily).

I agree with ParrotWatcher on the whole it’s too unique to borrow. Don’t wanna have you accused of copying.
Though the idea to have a consequence for overuse of power is a pretty universal idea. I’ve seen it loads of time from novels to anime to live action movies. Let’s just find a consenquence that is unique for this story.

Lol makes it harder for Witch hunters to get to the city.
Oh don’t worry this isn’t from any show. In American horror story each season has a different theme but uses the same actors playing different characters.
Season 1 AHS: Murder House: A haunted house theme
Season 2 AHS: Asylum: A religious Asylum/aliens
Season 3 AHS: Coven: Witches
Season 4 AHS: Freak Show: Freak Show circus
Season 5 AHS: Hotel: Haunted Hotel/Vampires
But during season 6 they kept the theme a Secret releasing trailers where only a few were tied to the theme and the others were not and meant to deceive the viewers. The crystal was one of the fakes. So I’m not taking it from anything I just thought it would be a cool thing to add. And for fun here is one of the last trailers that shows off some of the teasers
