A Witch's Path (WIP)

Just call him Solomon and use Solem as a nickname problem solved, next!

Well, that’s just confusing. Also, it denies the chance to use @Nael’s cute “Sol” nickname. :disappointed: I do prefer it to “Shay”, though.

Fine with this, as long as he stays a red-head.

Not going to comment on the others because I currently don’t plan on romancing them.

I think you mean:

Just call him Solem and use Sol as a nickname problem solved, next!

Much better.

Clearly he likes my name for him better , though I still think it’d be better if Soloman simply stopped existing.

It’s like you’re actively trying to be my opposite…

I don’t even get why you want to change that many names… I thought the Solem thing was solved with the poll. I was even about to ask which name won when I read your post. At this point I’d suggest you do that kind of name selection, like “yesterday I met that hot shy anime boy, called…”
.Solem
.Shay
.Oliver
…But of course it’d be problematic to talk about him, everybody would have to say just “the anime boy”, so this idea sucks.

Well, if you insist. As I said before, Sol is sun in Spanish, which makes total sense for Solem because he’s Mexican. Sol is also sun in Portuguese. Soleil is sun in French (it still close to Solem). So the point is, it’s cute and warm in sound and in at least 3 languages it’s even warmer. Solem also reminds me of solemn, which seems to perfectly fit in Solem’s personality. That’s all I can think.

As for the others, I like Sasha more than Nina, but I really like their old name more than the new, in general, for me it could stay as it is. But of course, it’s up to you.

Ugggghhhh I’m having so much trouble committing to a name for Solem/Oliver! Me and my co writer really like the name Oliver because of Ni no kuni for this character. But you guys are making it so hard because I just had a idea that Solems close friends in the White Coven call him Sol while the Night Coven calls him Soloman. Now I love both names! What’s a writer to do :sob:

I vote for Shay :expressionless: but if the night coven will call him Soloman that’s my second choice

psst make his real name Solomon and because of personal reasons(conflict?) he changed to Oliver.

Well, you could just keep Solem called Solem, and Oliver called Oliver. That way you get both names.

Magical Spell gone Wrong Duplicates him into a White side Sol, and a Night Side Soloman…

And he could take a second name to personally differ himself and Oliver Soloman is born

Hey guys still debating on the names as I write but thought to share this with you guys.
This is by far my favorite(and only read lol) witch based book series. I read it for my English reading choice in high school and loved it! It’s also what inspired the idea for your MC for my story also inspired the title. So if you ever want to read a witch story while waiting for this one this is the series I recommend. I just wish it wasn’t only two books:

Ugh! It’s been forever since I’ve been on! So… HI, PEOPLE/ALIENS/MAGICAL ENTITIES!

(SO MUCH READING!!! HAD TO SKIM AND I KNOW I MISSED SOME THINGS! :joy:)

Name changes, eh? Sounds fun! I liked what I saw about that!

And OH!!! A WITCH SERIES I HAVEN’T READ YET!!! SWEET!!!:heart_eyes::heart_eyes::heart_eyes:

Heh… I don’t have a favorite series about witches because it’s more like a long list of series in the running for first place!

But I can say I do enjoy the more fantastical approach to witches. Like in The Books of Pellinor where instead of witches, they have magical Bards! And in The Immortals Quartet, they have mages! And I’m totally babbling! :joy:

lol there’s one of my fashion consultants. Did you happen to read my post about needing a gown for representing the Secret Coven for the choosing ceremony. Also would love your opinion on the name dilemma.

The Solem vs Olivier dilemma? Or just overall?

Hmmmm… Secret Coven is the one run by those demonic forces, right? Something demonic and insane sounds like it’d fit right in. (I didn’t see the post since it was a fast skim through. Sooooo many posts!)

Over all. And yes I would like your help choosing a gown that symbolizes that Coven. Message me if you have ideas and to discuss and such lol.

I really love the Ulrich and Henry change!

Sasha(Is this short for Alexandra?) is definitely better than Nina(I swear I have flashbacks to one of my little sisters obsessing of an anime called Save Me! Lollipop! in which the heroine was called Nina… Someone save my mind! :joy::joy::joy::joy::joy:)

Christopher feels rather… Hmmmmm… Nostalgic, I guess! Something a kid who made you feel safe might be named… Is Zack/Christopher that type?(I completely missed the character descriptions. Lol)

Solem vs Olivier… Sol is a cute nickname, but Ollie is adorable! But Solem sounds so… Magical! But Olivier sounds rather cool too!!! OH THE DILEMMA!!! Ugh…:tired_face::tired_face::tired_face:

But it is as @ParrotWatcher said, the game will already have a character called Oliver if he doesn’t change it to Ulrich :'D If both names (Solem and Oliver) are cool why not just keep Solem called Solem and Oliver called Oliver? And maybe give the name Ulrich to a great teacher or something?

When I hear Nina, I think of Tekken’s Nina Williams.

The names to me sound kinda old for me with the exception of Ulrich and Sasha. I vote for Ulrich and a stay for everyone else.

Alright guys I think I’m good with the names I will post them later today so stay tuned!
But onto my question to help better the story.
So I’m going to have spells work by first saying them in English and then saying it again in Latin. Do you think this would work? Hope I get my Latin translation right or else I’m going to get a lot of bad reviews from people who speak Latin lol.
Also tell me what kind of spells you would like to see. I really want the spells to be diverse so readers can use the spell they feel are for them. Like some readers might use a spell that uses their tears to wash away the bindings that bind them while others might want to cast a explosion to disintegrate the bindings. There enchanted if your wondering why your using a spell to untie yourself.
So let me know and maybe the spell will be in the story.
Blessed Be

Solem had better be one of them. :unamused:

Why necessarily English and Latin? Why not Kabardian and Cherokee? I can’t think of anything particularly magical about English, and Latin is only considered magical because of its association with Christianity. I mean, if you want to say Latin is a magical language, fair enough, but why do we need to use English, too?

Eh it’s the only dead language I know of and English so the reader can know what the spell says. I also always thought Latin was pretty magical since it’s used often in magic theme literature or shows.
