Classic Seeker. Also, that’s a bunch more points he gets in my book.
Where IS Forlorn from? Is it stated somewhere? Are we supposed to know?
Which one is Iris again? I suck at names.

Iris is the new RO for Book 2 if I remember the character correctly.
Right, but that was meant more as an addendum.
Personal ‘custom’ uniforms aren’t that common in the mainstream teams, since they tend to have their state-mandated uniforms.
Normally, it’s not that cost effective to have a super suit, since the ones most likely to have them are unaffiliated heroes (or vigilantes), who don’t have the resources or know-how to make them ‘powered battle resistant’. They’d be getting torn and such after every outing, which can quickly rack up a bill.
He and Aki are from the exact same country, but there is no mention of what country that might be.
As Bored says, Iris is a Book 2 character. She’ll ‘join’ the League in it, though she’ll have her appearances start at the end of Book 1.
She’ll be a RO, and has quite a bone to pick with Laura Coltello and Kratis.
Sorry Lat, I found the best girl over here.
Like 85% chance of that happening. Very confident that you will do it.
Yeah, I grew a brain in the meantime and Ctrl+F’d for “Iris” in the thread. She’s the girl I ventured was going to end up being Cretan.
Place your bets, people. What are the odds of her succeeding at making me do a second playthrough to romance her instead of Aki? Lat did not.
We do know that Aki’s parents are in Europe (and loaded), though of course that’s hardly the same as being FROM there.
She certainly SOUNDED feisty, which is always a plus.
Do you, though? ![]()
I gotta ask, what are her parents like? Seeing how Aki is a nervous wreck and painfully shy then if you add the overprotective Forlorn, it makes me wonder about how her parents acted around her
![]()
@bored92 from what I could discern, I have the suspicion that her father is either a corporate businessman or an ambassador or similar-function politician. Aki says she didn’t have a lot of friends growing up, but a lot of plushies, which makes me suspect a financially-rich life where she wasn’t allowed much contact with other kids.
You’ll meet Aki’s father eventually, but…
Aki’s mother tries her best to be nice. She knows her position, and treats it with all the decorum and responsibility she has to, while trying to bring Aki up as best as she can. Aki mentions that her mother was the one that taught her how to sew, if I recall correctly.
She isn’t the best mother though, mostly because she was never really educated in the matter. As long as Aki looks happy and isn’t causing problems, then she thinks everything is fine. This is part of why Aki is such a homebody, or what you’d call a bit of a ‘shut-in’. Aki is happy in her room watching old shows and such, thus there’s no need to force her out of there.
Aki’s father is…ambitious. He was born in a pretty great position, but there’s always higher ceilings to reach. This is part of why he was so happy that Aki was powered (as I mentioned before, he threw the little girl a huge party when her powers showed up). He also works a lot, which means he isn’t at home that often. His job is absolutely super-important, of course, but he still goes above and beyond at it.
He actually has a bit of a bone to pick with Forlorn’s family (especially his dad) over the job thing. Forlorn is from what you could call a lesser family compared to Aki’s dad, and yet Forlorn’s dad outranks him at… whatever it is they are.
And Bento is correct. Aki’s family is fabulously rich. I have mentioned this on a few places I think, but from Aki’s PoV, she thinks she’s a far better ‘prize’ than Ignis.
I did not expect that their familes would be acquainted with each other but in a way, it does explain Forlorn’s behavior around Aki, it seems like he’s trying to keep her out of the family drama and allow her to enjoy the things she like with no stress.
Aki is a better RO than Ignis tho.
Gonna leave an Iris playthrough open for now but of the current set Aki is dominant.
My CURRENT hypothesis on Forlorn is that a girl died when he was around (not necessarily his fault or even something he could prevent) and he’s overcompensating with Aki. I also venture that it was due to killer robots, which explains his regression during the G7 attack.
Ew.
I mean, she’s definitely best girl, but still, ew, ‘prize’.
I see exdoctrinating her is gonna take a lot of work.
I have a feeling that we’re going to find out if you were right when part 2 comes out later, especially since the Other You said the best course of action is to have Aki talk to him and calm him down like how Black Widow calms the Hulk down. Hopefully Seeker stays busy fighting the robots while we’re doing that because if he got in the way, he’ll make things worse in Japan and I’ll blame him heavily for it.
They’re more than acquainted. Forlorn and Aki are related, though how exactly will take a bit longer to figure out.
Note that when I say ‘prize’, I don’t mean that Aki’s stuck in medieval thinkings of dowries and goats and what have you.
Aki does believe in love and all the hullabaloo, and once she marries (because she does want to marry), she wants it to be to whoever she decides.
When I say that Aki thinks she’s a better prize, I mean that she thinks she’s richer than Ignis and of higher status in general, not that Seeker should dump Ignis and start paying attention to her. ![]()
I’m sorry but what??? Holy shit.
Even if Forlorn and Aki didn’t have their connection, Seeker would be my LAST League choice to stop a rampaging Forlorn, because I want to get through this whole shebang without a League member getting cuisinart’d, and Seeker is a swordsman.

EDIT: Ok, red string board time.

Aki and Forlorn are connected through Aki’s mum, because her dad thinks Forlorn’s family is of lesser status than his own. Since this whole setup is striking me as extremely patriarchal, I’m going to saaaay… they’re cousins, with Aki’s mum being sister to Forlorn’s father.
Of course, this means Aki’s father, in his estimation, married DOWN, which suggests to me that his line of work is NOT political, but business-related.
I think it’s Aki’s mum and Lorn’s dad (see above).
I mean, I’m pretty confident that if there wasn’t a blood relation between them, Aki would go nowhere near as far defending him and his 'practices". ![]()
Sounds like they’re cousins at the best while their dads are brothers from what you’ve mentioned. It also could explain the tensions between the fathers over a job that they both apparently went for.
I’m just speaking from personal experience having an older brother whom I never spoke with over 10 years due to tension. But you could be right about this.
That also goes for sneakers jeans and t-shirts and they are pretty much guaranteed to need replacing after every serious scrap and unless the mc wears really, really cheap ones, which tend to look like the absolute shit they are repeatedly replacing them also racks up quite the bill.
We have our boy Nova though and the league has fashion freedom, so maybe we can talk with him about it. For my mc, even if there are some occasions where he cannot wear it, such as the correspondents dinner and the shopping trip it may be worthwhile in the end if it makes my mc better protected and look and feel better. Same logic as Mars’ fancy car…more of an investment up front for benefits later on.
So maybe we can talk with Nova about it? Even if my mc has to save up a couple months salary I think he’d still go for it, even if that would make it a book 2 feature. ![]()
That could certainly result in tension, but I feel this more easily covers Aki’s Dad’s view that Forlorn’s family is of lower status.
I mean, Nova’s holo ALREADY changes your face, it probably won’t take much retinkering to make it affect the perception of your clothes as well.
