Sorry for the late response, but yes, you’re correct. That’s one of the examples I mean in terms of the player doing things that aren’t exactly heroic.
Whether it’s a justified decision to make or not is, well, up to you as player, really. I don’t think I have a personal preference for what to do in that scenario. It’s true that the terrorist ends up captured anyway, but her state (both mental and physical) can, um… vary a little bit.
@Moonglow Hello, welcome to the thread! I’m glad that you’ve enjoyed the game enough to replay it a few times, always lights my day (well, night now, I guess…) up to see people having fun with the story.
As for F & S, yeah, you’re right that there’s certain reasons why they aren’t romanceable. The former’s because he doesn’t really see anyone he knows so far as a possible partner (more on that latter). They’re more allies, some of them friends and such. It’s very unlikely anyone right now will get to seem different to him. He’s also got much bigger priorities in the shape of a (relatively) small, black-and-blue haired young girl, who has no idea of what he’s hiding from her protecting her from.
The latter, well, someone got to him first, and even if they hadn’t, he’s really slow to figure out and commit to his feelings. It took Victoria about two years of traveling together before he went “Hm. Do I…?”, and so far, it’s taken Ignis about 2.5-3 years, and she’s still not all the way there.
You could, theoretically, argue for the Doomed Ignis treatment, but the difference between the two of them is that while Ignis wants to at least pretend to move forward, Seeker is too terrified to take a step in any direction.
Also, another thing, which I shouldn’t be saying yet because, y’know, it’s still about five-six chapters off, but I’ve never been very good at keeping secrets or anything:
This is Iris Bakyr-Lambros. She’s a 22 years old powered person from [Redacted].
She’s gonna be important.
She also does not like you.
Have a quote from her:
“So, what? You want me to clap like a seal and tell you that it’s a great plan? American safety paid for with [redacted] lives, such a clean victory. This mess is completely of your own creation, but somehow, we’re the ones giving our lives to clean it up for you.”
