Looking through the code, it seems that Zuan on board is supposed to be possible outside Demon Sera since there’s text for the good romance, is that a bug or just old code
After the Fleet Meet, I think Zuan usually comes aboard no matter the condition of Sera, though he is sometimes disappointed if she is not willing to receive his guidance. I will double-check it.
EDIT: In places with Sera, there might be unused code covering a few impossible states. Since I worked on routes and paths at different times, switching back and forth, I sometimes use this as a failsafe, making sure I cover the accumulation of choices, just in case. It does help to keep track and to try and ensure various pairings of variables are pushed in the direction I need. I hope, in the concluding segments, to simplify the variables into a set number of end stats to make it easier to start Book 2. Sera is very important in this regard as, depending on previous choices, she will have a few big moments.
*if ((thug) or (toughness >50)) or ((ruffknuck) or (ashtroop))
Tough as they come, with instincts primes for violence, you slip to the side, away from the cold press of metal. Bringing an elbow around, you crack it across the man's jaw. He immediately goes down like a rock.
Slow to act, under the influence of whatever snuff she's snorted, the woman lunges. With a deft sidestep, you bring a heavy right hook against the side of her skull. She too falls with one strike. Pretty pathetic really.
As payback, you rifle through their pockets and earn yourself a nice 550 grandes. Now, it is time to leave the groaning pair, heading past the dishevelled mob lingering in the alley. They slump out of your way without a second word.
*set beatrobbers true
*set toughness %+ 5

This is supposed to give you money but it does not
So they are like mites or bed bugs the size of rocks who manipulate fate? (I dont know the exact size aside from small.)
So the Cheat Menu from An Unexpectedly Green Journey. Are the MC’s Stats manipulated by the Boggarts from the Crone of Fate or is it a different thing?
@Jamesboxhanar Cheers, gotcha!
Keep them rolling, and I’ll catch them all!
From the text in the game, when the Boggarts sometimes manipulate other individuals, we can infer that ‘small’ means something more like ‘small-child size (a toddler)’ instead of ‘bug-sized’. Though they will vary, and they get bigger when corrupted.
In Green, it wasn’t the whims of chance, the Boggarts, which caused the player to buff their orc. That was the full blown intevention of the Crone of Fates herself, manipulating Time and Space!
For some reason when I get on the torment for the legionnaire path, this shows as my kit during intake.
Another issue is that the close combat stat boosts for training arent showing up
Yeah, this seems random. If you can, and I understand if you don’t want to, as it is your free time, try to repeat the error starting before you enter the Grey Torment. I haven’t updated any fixes and won’t until the next content update.
You need the (ashtroop) variable to display that in the stats screen, which you can’t have. I will add a check at the start of the entrance scene in the Grey Torment to remove all Despair’s Demise classes to make sure.
As far as I can see, the boosts are there and should therefore show up. Something glitched, and I am not sure if this was due to my code here. These things have happened before, although rarely, so I can’t be certain. Things like this play on my mind.
I’ll correct this.
Big help with all of these, mate. I do appreciate the time you take to look into things and to let me know.
I reloaded the page, and the stats worked again so I think that’s not on your end. I think the gear is from the fact that the character was a ruffnuck and you get assigned a class on the train in some circumstances.
Phew. Good to know. I never like to blame ‘glitches’, but sometimes this is the case. I use a ‘nocrawl’ variable, which should mean that the old classes do not show up when outside the crawler, but I may have missed this at some point.
EDIT: Ah! Yes, this is it. I removed the ‘nocrawl’ variable when you go onto the Grey Torment to provide access to the crawler stats page. I will keep my new fix, just removing the Despair’s Demise jobs tags from the player when they enter it.
Muuuuuaaaahsssive thanks to the community!
All at once, I’ve been hit with a flurry of Epic Legends of Testing and Squishing Things here and on Patreon! Really, it has been a bit insane and given me so much extra work, haha! But so needed!
I am truly stunned by the work some of you have put into improving the game, finding typos and especially finding bugs, over the last month. A few nasty bugs have been found! Really horrible things with many nipping mouths. Also, certain scenes have been improved, made smoother and given more purpose. The next update will contain the largest batch of typos and bug fixes I’ve ever had since Shriek began. This will probably be towards the end of the month.
I’m proud to march, or drive, with you, Ashland Road Pirates, and share many flasks of grog… or tea. I am honoured and very touched.
Sneaky bit here… I want to see my views tip to 80K! ![]()
A few moments later…
K! GET IN!![]()
