A question about this magic system

Will the story change at all depending on if you are/are not a Synir?
Maybe certain characters are distrustful of magic-users for example?
It would provide some good replay value.

The name was chosen because syn first manifested as a disease. One that was 100% fatal, you could last hours, days, maybe even years but it would kill you. It was believed that those infected had sinned. By the time the story starts, it isn’t fatal as we have evolved to coexist with the syn. The stigma that they are sinners still exists. It is not as widespread but its still there.

A great start, can’t wait to see more. I guess the only criticism I have(I’m more confused then criticising really) is that I normally always check the stats before I start any game (gives me an insight as to how in depth the game mite be) and noticed there was archery, yet the character only had a sword to dispatch the charging barbarian… Just thought it may of been cool to choose what weapon to use that’s all, other then that, awesome

You will get to choose a bow and arrow later. Originally had a choice of different weapons but removed it. It’ll be back for the next battle.

As my first game Unnatural - Season One has entered the final editing stage, I have been tinkering with this game while I wait for the editing.

Currently the only weapon done is the sword, but the other options can be chosen and won’t actually cause an error.

This sounds great, just one thing. If syners can only control what’s already there, won’t syners with a fire afinity be at a disadvantage? Air and earth are practically everywhere (I know there are some cercumstances where they might not be, but not many, especally not for air) and water could be gathered together from droplets in the air and at least occurs naturally.

That’s true but a synir can use all the elements the element that they have an Affinity for is just naturally stronger.

When synirs are used in combat you have to set up the battlefield. Hence in the demo Selene gets the Valean soldiers to set fire to their arrows.

Thought of an weapon an double sides sword which you hold in the middle and you are able to attack from both points

There will be a chance to get other weapons some unique to each hometown (for example Synir’s can get a weapon that is made to naturally absorb syn so they can carry their own brief supply into an area where there aren’t what they need)

Actual weapons. There are certain Rare trees in this world that naturally absorbs syn so a Synir can use this brief supply. I should say that its enough for 2-3 bursts of magic.

I’ll do a proper wip thread when I’m ready. This one was more about refining the magic system.
