A Mage Reborn, Book Two (WIP) - UPDATED August 7th | Book One Released!

Beats being turned into a human meat skewer. Downside is you’d likely become a wandering mercenary for hire trapped in a depression due to your actions, get hired by a wizard as a bodyguard, meet a fae who joins the party, get chased by gorgon assassins, and end up back in the area you were exiled from to begin with.
Wait a minute… wrong WIP.

if Leon could pardon my MC, she will. xD Now I’m curious if what will happen if we were exiled instead but it’s less dramatic I suppose

One of my mages would still be a little hurt by the exile, but they’d come back sooner or later. They’re desperate for affection, what can I say?

Another one has always been more… cruel? I suppose? So they’d take this as a just punishment. And also never come back because they are extremely sensitive and that rejection made them feel like they didn’t owe anything to Param anymore, no matter how much they may be needed.

Come back to cast a curse on the royal family and observe with pleasure the misfortunes that befall them. That would happened if he had listened to his cruel and vindictive part of the personality.

If not… he would probably end up in some distant country and become a librarian in small town.

My mage wouldn’t be plotting murdering Leon and destroying Param if she wasn’t executed. Exile would be an understandable punishment and most importantly, it would be reversible. Leon chose to go ahead and burn his friend alive instead so now he and his country will suffer for it.

I think they meant would you return after the mage’s innocence was proven/after Ilya deciphered sister’s notes.

Not unless there’s a very good reason. Exile/banishment usually means you’ll be killed if you try to return, right? Even if my MC tries to come back, they might have to deal with vigilantes looking for revenge.

Oh right, so if they decide to pardon the MC. They would return, if only for their old friends. Say hi to Aunt Bess, explore the land and gain new knowledge.

Yes, if only to annoy the hell out of everyone lol

Amilia is a fae not an elf but close enough

Unless Ilya specifically is the one to request my mage’s return after she clears her name then I think my Mage is just gonna don a new set of robes, maybe a mask and be a wandering spirit(ist) somewhere in the world who only shows up to do mercenary work or visit aunt Bess and Ilya.
Too bad we exiled Cethleann, the savior of Param. Now she doesn’t want to come back all that much after Leon punched her in the face and Arcadia’s breaking down the gates to the castle as we speak. Not a fun time all around.

The only difference between Barbecue Mage and Exile Mage is that Exile Mage would be a lot less vengeful and wouldn’t actively desire to burn Leon and his entire kingdom to the ground.

Yes. In fact, he will still see Leon as a friend if Leon decided to exile him until he is proven innocent. There will be no hard feelings at all.

– Mage, please come back.
– …
– Yes, I’m a dumb-dumb. Please, come back?
– …
– I won’t cook ever again!
– . . .
– And if you don’t, I will have to make some comfort food for Saine and Ilya.
– Okay, okay, stop threatening me, I’m coming, don’t you even dare to touch a saucepan!

But the drama tho. You gotta have that drama. I just can’t wait to see how Leon and (my) MC will completely malfunction when meeting each other again. Because “Hi, I’m back” and “I’m really sorry for what happened” don’t really cover this whole mess, do they?

Honestly, I’m just giddy to see what the reaction will be to my mage who’s personality did a complete 180, but not in the way expected. When they met the WF, my mage was stoic and reserved. Now that Eli is back, they’re basically a firecracker of energy that bounces off the walls.

Honestly, I think I’d prefer burning alive than eating his food again; truly a fate worse than death :scream:

Turns out death could flip on the extrovert inside you, who knew?

Well cant say its unexpected since you were practically a firecracker in the last moments of you life previous life.

Exile would have been understandable, I wouldn’t have been enthusiatic about it but I could have understood it, with what they knew before Ilya came through.

With the burning… there is no hope in Hell of reconciliation, I will have Leon’s head, and anyone else’s who sides with him.

So his entire kingdom? WORKS FOR ME!

My mage definitely would have been a brooding, uncooperative nightmare for Tahlia and the rest of Arcadia otherwise. Eli is the only reason they’re happy again, which isn’t healthy, but it’s better than being a dead inside lump just forced to exist again.

Which is what happened to my mage. sure he’s happy that Eli is alive and well, but he personally feels he was better off dead; now that he’s alive and forced to work with the arcadians, he’s just going with the flow with the only real motivation being keeping his loved ones alive (i.e Eli, Saine, Illya, and Leon even though he’s still not forgiven). He couldn’t really give an F about much else, they burned along with him

Mine would. Aside from Ante, Leone and the nobles, he doesn’t have anything against Param. He would love to reunite with Illya and Saine. I mean, this isn’t really a change from my current character. Just a bigger grudge against Leone.

Opposite with my character. His thought process being “Being alive again rules! Death was fucking boring.” Eli also being alive is just more reason to be excited. If he could just reunite with Illya and Saine, this’d be perfect. Working with the Arcadians isn’t that big a deal for him either. Yu and Eli are fun to hang around, and Flyss grows on you eventually. And this whole New Arcadian Empire thing sounds like a good cause to fight for.

My mc isn’t one to look out for number one, he needs a greater purpose. Living a quiet life sounds dull and unfulfilling, especially with so many people who need help. He’s ecstatic to be back in action.
