A Mage Reborn, Book Two (WIP) - UPDATED August 7th | Book One Released!

You need to have high noble. Additionally, you need either 80 alchemy or 80 enchantment to actually succeed so if you don’t have stats that high, don’t bother, you’ll end up losing more people than if you just pick between the younger or older ones

Thank you so much for the advice and the help
I appreciate it.

Ok first of all hands down one the best titles to be ever released. I won’t compare AMR with anime but surely your anime would slay even harder than My Hero Academia and Demon Slayer. The books are short which makes it even harder to wait for the next book. But most of all i like the Phantasmas so much. They are so cool.

Huh, I didn’t even realize that because I always prioritized alchemy and thaum. And my character is… Well he cares far more about others than himself so…

just curious but can the other uh avatars evolve or is it just Satiel who changes?, which apartaly include his powers as well as his name.

The mc have 5 phantasma the new one isn’t some sort of evolution it’s a completely different one from the other 4 in book 1

Hey is this fragment just in high noble/emotional playthroughs? It’s when we meet the village chief and learn his father passed away.

After learning about MC’s background I think they can imagine very well and wouldn’t have a thought like that.

Both Book 1 and 2 have a lot of different flavored text depending on your Mage’s choices. One of my favorite examples is when we meet Saine. Even choosing the same option such as being angry at Leon for making holidays under your name, your mage can have different reasons as to why they are angry and its all dependent on what choices and reaction you made. I can’t say for certain about this particular scene but I am 80% sure that yes, this text is tied to a Noble mage.
@comradelenin During the Firework scene if you choose not to hang out with anyone, later to go see the said fireworks on your own, you can meet him. :+1:

How do we meet him anyway?

If you tap out early at the festival instead of going to meet anyone for the fireworks, or if you just don’t search around at all, you should be able to!

Wow it took me quite a while to finish the new update…There is one thing for sure that my mc doesn’t like to be talhlia’s underdog…Cant the mc just takeover arcadia as the King???..Hmm I am sure flyss wouldn’t like that but seriously if I could overthrow tahlia it would be awesome

There will be an endgame option without her. If you want to go down that route.

Hi, everyone. I’m new here. I come to know about this series when CoG released its first book. After finishing book 1 and looking the author up, I was surprised to find that there’s a demo for book 2. And after playing it, I’m now a huge fan of this series.

Anyway, from what I can understand, even though the MC is brought back to life with a very powerful magical ritual, the MC isn’t a normal living human. The same can be said about Eli. They very much rely on Tahlia’s mana supply to keep their body alive. And if Tahlia decides to “release” the MC from her mana supply and let the MC’s body bear the Song of the Dead on its own, the MC’s body will slowly and painfully die because they simply don’t have enough mana to keep their resurrected body going.

So I can only speculate that Tahlia has a nearly infinite supply of mana for her to be able to keep both the MC and Eli alive indefinitely, not to mention she has been doing so for Eli for almost a decade. Perhaps this has something to do with her phantasma. So, as much as I hate being a prisoner in Arcadia, I think siding with Tahlia is the smartest thing to do for the time being.

As a side note, Oyuna from the Yotai arc has a phantasma that supplies nearly infinite mana, which the Nightsaber will acquire after “assassinating” her. I think this phantasma may be a key to grant both the MC and Eli freedom from Tahlia’s clutch. Of course, this is just my speculation.

Who cares about what F thinks unless you’re going for them :joy: if you wanna go for it, do it.

That question already has been answered on Tumblr and it totally has something to do with her phantasma. If you’d like, I can provide you the link to the answer to that.

This has me thinking, perhaps if we so choose, the MC can terminate the mana supply to their resurrected body and allow themselves to die peacefully as one of the endings. Just thinking about this possibility makes me tear up, especially since poor MC has been through so much. This series has been an emotional roller-coaster as it is.

PS: Please pardon any grammatical mistakes that I may have made. English is my fourth language, and not one I use on a daily basis.

Yes, if you’d be so kind, and thanks for confirming my speculation.

Had to dig a bit through this thread but here you go.

Thanks for the link. From what the author said in regard to the MC’s case, the issue has more to do with the MC’s soul constantly facing rejection and hostile mana from the earthly plane for some reason.

This complicates things further. So, if we want to keep the MC alive without Tahlia’s help, we’ll have to find a way to overcome this problem as well.

Edit: Saw someone made a meme about their MC being forced to work with Arcadia on the author’s Tumblr page, so I’ve decided to plagiarise that meme. XD
But seriously, this is exactly how I feel about being a prisoner in Arcadia.

It seems to me like Eli, who also went through this, isn’t suffering the consequences for it, so maybe it gets better overtime? Sorta like how a wound should be treated delicately while healing, and how even after “healing” the “scar” is weaker than the original thing, at least until it’s fully fixed, if ever.

Either way, I feel like it wouldn’t make sense for us to have to need Thalia to live. That might be what she wants, but, narratively speaking, that’s a horribly limiting thing to impose on our characters. It only makes sense, to me, that we’d find some alternative, perhaps having to do with our chosen phantasma, Earthshaker, and/or our magical talents.

I’m not sure about this thing getting better with time. In the escape scene, Tahlia only made an example out of the MC to scare Eli into submission. Because Eli cares a lot about the MC, they volunteered to be the “prison guard” of the MC just to placate Tahlia and to prevent the MC from getting hurt like that again. I think that if Tahlia decided to make an example out of Eli as well, it is likely that Eli would have suffered in the same way.

And yes, the MC’s current situation is very limiting, and thus they are a prisoner of Arcadia in more ways than one, but we also have to remember that the MC owes their resurrection to Tahlia, whether we like it or not. But I do believe we’ll be able to find a way to keep the MC, and perhaps Eli as well, alive without Tahlia’s help eventually.
