A Mage Reborn, Book Two (WIP) - UPDATED August 7th | Book One Released!

Idk but I’m starting to think the reason Ante hates MC is simply coming from the fact that Julius was suspicious of the MC

I’d say if mc came clean Ante’s priorities should lie elsewhere, mainly Salantira. Overlooking an entire nation being taken hostage and a definite threat to Param is kind of a bigger deal than one friendly mage, which they could deal with later and who would definitely prove their loyalty during the time it takes to get rid of sister.

If anyone held a claw on my throat i would also do the same.
If they asked me dogs can fly i would say they can not only fly but fly at the speed of light , hell i would even get myself to believe that.

The opposite

If the MC had come clean to Julius I think that Ante would’ve went from “suspicious” to “paranoid” right then and there

my read on julius was that he personally felt bad about the enslavement and oppression of the arcadians, but not so bad that he was willing to like give them their land back or anything. I thought that the accords were his way of throwing them a bone (or making a token effort) without actually doing anything to upset the apple cart. mireil has a real point there imho!

I agree with @jbento that ante probably just doesn’t like mages lol but now im wondering if the mc could infer their heritage based on their ability to use arcana, could anyone in param have known enough to do the same?

Man I still remember the first interaction my MC had with Leon

“Keep that up and my next spell will be headed to your face” saying it while having a bright smile on her face

or something along those lines when Leon thought our spell did nothing when they encountered the beast XD

I kinda want a similar situation to that one when MC encounters Leon again for the first time after the resurrection

Maybe go along the lines of "Saine and Illya had ventured out to some forest for a walk and Leon followed them because he’s nostalgic to the white fangs days, Saine and Illya get attacked by an Elysian beast again and Illya gets poisoned again and then Leon jumps into the action only for it to end up like that situation, then the MC being masked walks in by accident and helps them out like the MC did the first time

" Keep that up and my next spell would be heading to your face Blondie"

I doubt it. Parami magic knowledge is… not great, to put it mildly, because that’s what happens when you let religious zealots be in charge of saying who can use what magic.

I’d be suspicious of mc also, you don’t just put some random person next to an heir and leave that person be. You should at least run a background check on them, it’s common sense. The conversation mc was supposed to have with the king would have led to this anyway, and mc seemed ready to deal with that.

If Julius approved of mc then Ante’s opinions would not matter, Julius is not Leon whose ideals were shaky, he knew what he was doing and wouldn’t easily be led astray like Leon.

I agree that Julius didn’t do absolutely everything he could, but it’s also partially because you can’t just fix things by snapping your fingers, change has to be gradual so he did what would lead to the least amount of chaos and would keep slowly gradually changing things for the Arcadians, he just got killed off before he could finish

@Kitty_Gaige
Enjoyed the fan fiction, an enjoyable read. And don’t worry about trying to write to all the different mc possibilities as that is simply impossible unless we are doing like whole coded fan fic’s and even then that’s too much work! And besides it’s cool getting to see someone’s unique character applied to this situation.
Lol

I think that if he was a fraud and a fake he would have pleaded for his life. It’s not like he said what sister had wanted him to say, she wasn’t pleased with him, he said what he believed in and he died for it. That’s the impression that I got from that scene.

People continue to not understand what autocratic absolutism is, and it baffles me.

see @eis?? mc’s instinct to never tell anyone anything ever pays off sometimes! I think so too though, but what a dangerous way to run your kingdom where no one understands something that important.

Has anyone considered that Ante is so sus of the mc and just kind of a pain is simply because she can’t accept, let alone stand that Leon trusts the mc more then his head of intelligence? Her actions and attitude are not because she is looking out for her King and Country, but simply because she is jealous?

Aste has another problem to deal with, namely that she’s, well, a she in a kingdom that is misogynistic by law.

Oh we already she’s being jealous of the MC ever since the MC became a Retainer

Could also be due to how informal the MC was with Leon and Saine

Imagine how an Aristocrat would feel if some backwater plebian was behaving all nonchalant and friendly with the royal family

There’s literally no such thing as an absolute monarchy where the ruler does basically whatever they want without any sort of counsel Or worry of civilian/nobility uprising. True, we don’t know a lot about how it works in the world of AMR, but based off of historical examples, even absolute monarchs have their limits unless they’re North Korea or something, but that obviously wouldn’t fit here

Historical examples don’t apply, because history doesn’t actually have anyone with a deity-given bloodline-based magic-cutting sword that was the reason the kingdom got founded in the first place.

The closest thing we have to that is King Arthur
