At the end of the day, you can make all of the rational arguments for the MC’s sake (they could of been mind controlled, it was extremely out of character, etc) but it doesn’t really matter because Leon was not acting rationally.
He’s upset, he feels betrayed by his best friend , he’s essentially seeing red. I don’t quite remember how long the time span was from the Mc’s capture to their date with destiny but however long it was our last conversation with Leon shows that it wasn’t long for him to start thinking straight.
It’s a perfect example for why power over someone’s life should never be given to just one single person.

Leon killed us over a temper tantrum. Burnt us alive, and even if there was enough wood to not let the fire get to us before we died because of the smoke it was still hot enough to you know cook us alive. I imagine feeling that on your skin must be quite uncomfortable. I think we have the right to call for revenge on this one.
And he still has the nerve to make up a festival so he can feel better about himself.

Thanks to the earlier comments, i had a spark of creativity and i hope the author reads this bit XD
Our comeback/first public appearance as the long deceased Hero should be EPIC and basically something that would make everyone stop breathing. (Especially Ante, I want to see immeasurable shock on her face)
how about we set the MC statue on Fire right in the middle of the night so that it would burn the brightest, and then when all important figures and the public folk converge to see what the frick is going on they see some Masked person(mc) standing on top of the statue which then the MC uses some sort of gravity magic that he acquired to jump from the top of the statue and slowly descends and then in the midst of the uproar, the King (Leomar) brandishes his Sword and swears to kill this masked person who dared to burn the statue of the hero, our MC then fights Leomar and gives him a Run for his money just like the time when the MC fought leomar to determine whether the MC is fit to become a retainer or not, and then Leomar notices that detail and that this masked person is every bit equal or stronger than the MC which then triggers flags in his mind, and then his confusion shows on his face, then the MC gives a sarcastic laugh and says as he/she remove the mask “Kill me once, Shame on you. Kill me Twice, Shame on Me” in a voice filled with nothing but malice and hatred
Edit : Although i have no idea if the statue is life-size or something grand and large enough to stand on top of it

Not to be controversial but I actually like Leon and am excited for my MC to see him again one day. Will be very interesting to work all that baggage out.
This is by far one of my favourite and most anticipated WIPs, I love the world and lore!

I don’t think it’s controversial since Leon is right up there with Eli as the top popular ROs, but honestly you have the right to like whatever character you wanna so don’t worry about us going off. I’m pretty sure the friendly route will be interesting too, since you’ll probably be responsible for making Illya and Saine want to look at Leon’s face again lol
Plus you’ll have to deal with the whole collar thing on top of it.

I don’t hate Leon either, on the opposite he was the RO of my MC and when Leon punched the MC during captivity I instead think of it as (slapping) my MC because it fits the story much more to me since my MC is female and that hurts my MC much more than a punch
I just like to play these sort of games in every possible route / method and I just happen to like this path the most even though it makes my MC full of anger towards param

Finally gave this a shot and now I have another dreaded case of “How am I supposed to choose best boy/girl?!” on my hands.
Summary
Not too much hate for Leon, guy did what he thought he had to do. Besides, narratively, he was set up in the position of executioner. In another world, I could also see the event going down with Leon/Saine/Ilya advocating for keeping MC locked up while trying to figure out his/her intentions, with a coverup about the Saintess passing away from her condition. Like I said though, narratively, he was set up as the executioner and we’ve already seen that — and heard from Julius — that he’s more of a heart over head kind of guy, as well as more of a fighter than a politician. Would be interesting to see how the reconciliation, if there is one, or the antagonism and relationship falling apart goes.
Flyss I’m more on the fence on. Has that stereotypical rough on the outside, maybe not so much on the inside thing going for her, which I do admittedly like, but we’ll see how that goes. Just not enough to work with right now for me to tell. The author has mentioned on tumblr that she/he is more cuddly, which definitely lends itself to the soft on the inside thing.
Yurui is fun. The gadfly/the tease, but also the bleeding heart. I like her, but she has really tough competition. Like, really, really tough competition. I do enjoy the teasing and the flirting and overall friendliness because it’s honest and refreshing. And cute. The bleeding heart aspect just makes me like her more, especially given her dedication to the cause. She acknowledges it too, that in an ideal world you can have noble causes and noble methods but the world is often not that kind. Still, she tries to stick to what she believes is right, and the fact that the others let her feels nice. Even if they disagree, they respect each other enough to give it a shot.
Ilya. Oh Ilya. Tough competitor number 1. Even on the friendship route the poor girl sounds inconsolable after finding out the truth. That’s pretty much a critical hit for me, added on to all that came before. The worrying, the aversion to putting MC in danger, the relationship that didn’t quite get a chance to actually happen… which the author drives in with the scene before MC leaves, the jailbreak attempt, and the revelation of the truth in the aftermath. I am such a sucker for those kinds of things: of nights spent underneath starry skies, sacrifices, words unspoken, and promises of eternity broken. Can’t wait to see how that all pans out.
Eli. Really, I should be able to just end it here. I feel like there’s not much that needs to be said here. Eli makes it extremely difficult to pick anybody else, especially after I read those tumblr answers involving Eli smothering MC with affection to “make up” for an accident (that irrational fear of not doing/being enough is just hnggg, straight in the heart) and her wish, “togetherness”. Like ok author, how am I supposed to say no to that?! Plus she already literally died for you. AND all that happens after you reunite with her is just, god. Her overprotectiveness, the very much unspoken but shown affection, holding hands, the crappy gold necklace, all of that is just a wombo combo to my fragile heart.

What a nice snippet , while it can definitely use some editing and pacing could be a bit better but what matters is i enjoyed reading it a lot , loved it infact plus the fact my mc would also like to do something similar to this made this even better for me , only complaint i have is there is no ante present in this snippet.
But this was awesome , please dont hesitate to share anything else that you’ve written , we would all love to see more.
