So. Yeah! IDEALLY, I want to upload 3 chapters next time. This being 10 through 12. Somewhere in there, I’ll work on the stats screen, too. And fixing the intervals because I learned the hard way flat numbers weren’t helping me. When will this be uploaded? Not a clue. Because, well, life. And things.
Also somewhere in there, getting my patreon page back up. Most likely, the first posts there will be, like, the previous draft. I don’t know about entire chapters, but at least large portions. Not sure yet, as I really don’t want to worry about posting new things monthly again, simply because I’m afraid I won’t be able to keep up.
I’ll most likely switch between other projects I’ve alluded to, or Books 2 and 3. The former I started typing up, the latter is roughly planned. I’ll do my best to post sneak peeks here from time to time! That being said, there’s a chance I post things about those other projects, too! I suspect this will be, say, Nyx’s spin-off, as his story is what follows the trilogy and leads into Amberwood.
But, Nike, what about after the trilogy?! Someone may or may not be asking. The answer is, no clue! Truth be told, I’m sort of… hinging future uploads of other projects on this. If THIS does well enough (whatever that looks like in the future), then I can likely imagine myself committing further into writing IFs! I guess it’d be like… confirmation that I’m doing something right. Or validation. Or something!

I’ve been super scatter brained these past weeks, and if not that, than completely blah in the inspiration department.
I was honestly picking at possible concepts for other stories in the future, and my brain has been bouncing around a lot. And working on Book 3 a bit. But now I’m back to Book 1 and still figuring out scenes to add to pad things out, as one anon suggested!
Lemme tell you, I’ve been watching Supernatural, ya’ll. I never quite got into it while it was airing, though I did bits and pieces. I’m nearing the end of Season 3- still leaning toward Sam more than Dean lmao, like it matters. It’s been inspiring though! It’s given some small ideas, helped me think. Kinda glad I wasn’t into it back then. I think it’s made watching it now way more enjoyable.
I’m adding a scene to Book 2 that, I think, will make it to the final version, as I’m liking what it adds, no matter how minute. I got things to add to Book 1, like a tidbit of detail in the exposition, and a scene I came up with some days ago. I also got a new possible ending for Book 1 and a new one for Book 3. Which, if the latter happens, you guys will probably me hella mad at me.

Update: uploading soon! Ch.1 through 8.
Since Dashingdon is about to be out of the picture, I figured I’ll upload AoL chapters 1 through 8 due to those nearing completion in the edits and fixes. Besides just being generally slow in working (I know, I’m sorry), I decided doing it this way would be better than waiting until ALL (1-12) of it has been done.
If you want to see the changes and edits listed, read on! Otherwise, please wait a little longer, I swear it’s coming. I’m so sorry this has taken so long, I’ve no excuse.
~Added a new scene to Ch.7. And new scene to Ch.8.
~Fixed variables: I made them flat numbers. I… I don’t know why. So I went back to change them into percentages again. Lesson learned.
~Added more flavor text where possible. This includes text for your MC’s chosen vice. I could do more in some places, but I was worried it’d disrupt the flow, if that makes any sense.
~Found several errors in coding (ie. found a missing variable) or LI/RO pronouns that were overlooked.
~Made minor changes to the story such as reformatting, taking out certain lines (due to not liking them/feeling they were unnecessary, etc.)
I might have missed things but those were the most significant if I did. I have worked on the stats screen but… that’s… That thing is giving me issues.

“So this is the ${mc_woman} which intrigues him,” says the stranger, like I had already bored him to tears. His voice rumbles through me. It’s like feeling the boom of thunder through the floor.
The weapon edges away. When his hand returns, it comes back empty and takes my wrist. His fingers force my hand open to expose my bandaged palm. There isn’t a burn to speak of. The skin isn’t even red from irritation. My gaze follows along his arm until I see his face over my shoulder.
His hair is as neat as a pin and the perfect shade of black with a strip of silver streaking from his temple. His goatee has more silver peppered throughout. Pale, nearly white irises make eye contact difficult. Something about the unusual color, or lack thereof, makes me feel like he’s mapping out my existence. Every road leads to another secret. The forest are my organs he plans to cut down and use for fire. My brain is the empire he seeks to invade and steal from.

Y’all, the stats screen is made me so mad. But I got it. Finally. Among other things. I THINK I got all the errors that I overlooked but it’s possible I still missed some. Hopefully not.
SOOOOO yeah. This demo, as previously mentioned, does have some new stuff, like scenes and much smaller things such as more flavor text.
I hope it’ll be worth the wait for some of you! I understand any frustration out there. I don’t blame anyone for it!

NOTE: My apologies for not notifying the forum that I would be uploaded today instead of (the planned) yesterday!
Here it is, ya’ll! Click here to begin the demo! Now, I believe I got my errors fixed and such, but it’s possible I may have overlooked certain things. Such as pronouns, despite my efforts. PLEASE let me know of any issues you come across, especially if they prevent progression!

I don’t know if its the game or cogdemos but it won’t let me progress beyond chapter 2. It just loads forever.

Unfortunately, I don’t know how to help, as I had an anon on Tumblr say the same. The only thing I can (now think of) suggest is trying another browser if possible. I tried the demo myself and was able to move on to Ch.2.
Can you move on to chapter 3? I can get through chapter 2 but it gets stuck on the last scene when chapter 3 should start. I’ll try a diff browser to see if it works

Fixed! I legit did miss chapter 3. It was listed under my “temp” file, so I didn’t think to look because, I guess, “temp” is the end file for when you reach the end of the demo. Whatever the case, it’s in there!
